S/V Singing Winds Yacht Details

Welcome!

We are so excited to help you have an awesome sailing adventure. My name is Scott Houston, and it has been my lifelong dream to own a sailing yacht. I chose the Saba 50 due to the comfort, style, luxury and sailing stability she offers. My wife, Theresa and I are happy to share our good fortune with you by offering Singing Winds for charter for your next sailing adventure!

Singing Winds is our new, beautiful, fully loaded Saba 50 with 5 cabins/heads/showers launched in late 2019. She will allow you and your family & friends to enjoy & explore the Virgin Islands in style and comfort. She offers a spacious master suite queen cabin with a hotel style bathroom, a separate enclosed spacious shower, separate vanity, private head and office/makeup vanity desk area. 3 other cabins have spacious, walk around queen berths all with their own ensuite electric heads, separate showers, USB charging ports and loads of storage space! The 5th cabin has a cozy double bed with a private head/shower across the hall. There are also fans in all 5 cabins for the perfect white noise as well as 6 separate AC units all with separate climate controls to allow everyone a good night’s sleep.

This yacht accommodates large groups of up to 10 guests comfortably. Singing Winds is absolutely perfect for up to 5 couples vacationing together or one big family to spread out! This boat provides luxury both inside and out. No need to suffer limited refrigerator space, which is often the case when sailing with a large group. Singing Winds has a separate 2 deep drawer stainless steel refrigerator and stand-alone freezer unit for plenty of food storage as well as an additional refrigerator in the cockpit.

A favorite feature is the separate icemaker (supplied by filtered water) in the cockpit that will allow you to always have cold drinks close at hand! On Singing Winds, you will never have to waste time or money stopping to buy bags of ice or bottled water. Our extra capacity fresh water tanks and drinking water filter have you covered! If you do run low, the water maker will keep you supplied.

Plenty of Room ...

Singing Winds has three separate outdoor social areas for everyone to enjoy time together outside. The first is at the bow, where a conversation nook includes two lounges with accompanying settees and a cocktail table. Eight people can easily gather to enjoy the sunset. With the 3 zoned sound system, you can listen to whatever you like up front without bothering anyone else if need be.

On the other end is the aft cockpit, which is two steps up from a swim platform. A long cushioned bench seats up to six people. To port is the main dining table that is perfect for dining alfresco. An additional lounge is to starboard and is the perfect reading spot. Singing Winds has an upgraded, built-in, Blaze Pro Marine Grill that allows guests to barbecue meats, fish, fruits and veggies to perfection! The swim platform / hydraulic lift allows for pain-free dinghy launching and securing. Just lower the platform into the water and float the dinghy off the cradle. When moored with the dinghy in the water, the swim platform provides 20 feet of fun, easy water access and a staging spot for snorkeling or swimming or having a “refreshment” waterside.

The popular upper deck has three sun lounges and an additional settee to seat six people comfortably. The view is fantastic and provides the perfect spot for sundowner toasts! While underway the captain will never feel left out with the helm station being 3 steps away from both the sundeck and cockpit.

Loaded Kitchen & Spacious Salon

The salon includes a galley that could rival many home kitchens. It has a large double-drawer refrigerator located in the center island. This setup allows multiple people to help with meal preparation. A four-burner stove and a freezer are outboard, and an oven sits up at counter level. Of course there is also a microwave and coffeemaker too. The ability to completely slide open the glass between the salon and cockpit opens up these areas to allow for easy conversation during meal prep and clean up.

Our galley is fully loaded with everything you will need including cutting boards, pots, pans, silverware, glassware, wine opener, etc … It even has a salad spinner! : – ) Due to the natural light flooding in through overhead hatches, skylights and large windows food prep will never seem like a chore …

The second dining area is located in the Salon area. On Singing Winds we have a unique feature that is truly incredible! There is a custom adjustable height table with expandable leaves for dining indoors. It can double as a coffee table and can be used as additional desk space as well. The couch area is a comfortable spot to watch a movie on the flat screen TV or to take advantage of the additional chart plotter at the nav station allowing everyone to gather as a group to plan out the next day’s destination.

Helm Station

The helm station is quite impressive with its instrumentation and design for comfortable control of the vessel. With a removable bimini, it can provide shelter from sun, wind and rain when needed.

In a unique design developed by her builder Fountaine Pajot, three winches (2 powered) and a spacious line handling area are located just forward of the wheel/instrumentation pedestal such that any crew managing the sail plan has room to work without getting in the way of the helmsperson.

All of the instrument displays and autopilot functionality are also duplicated inside on the multifunction display in the salon at the nav station as well. Always handy if an unexpected “drencher” pops up to be able to get out of the rain …

While underway the captain will never feel left out with the helm station being 3 steps away from both the sundeck and cockpit.
